West Australian Landscape: Time, Light & Place.

‘Subdivision’ explores the relationship with the environment in which we exist.

The composite nine canvases symbolize how we divide land and assign ownership, a key aspect of societal identity.

The black, hand-made pigment sourced from Collie coal represents mineral extraction and its subsequent impact on global climate.

The green hues embody nature’s self-sustaining processes composed in discord throughout.

The work invites the viewer to question, through our relationship with nature, who are we.
